介绍（中）	斯旺的绘画和雕塑都是以这类绘画为基础的。在巴黎美术学院皇家学院和让-路易·热罗姆的工作室学习后，这位艺术家向雕塑家埃马纽埃尔·弗雷米特寻求动物解剖学的指导。从1878年起，他在皇家科学院展出，1894年成为助理，1905年成为正式院士，以描绘狮子、老虎、美洲豹或北极熊而闻名，同时代人称赞其自然主义。
介绍（英）	Swan's paintings and sculptures were firmly based on drawings of this sort. After studying at the Royal Academy, École de Beaux Arts in Paris, and in the studio of Jean-Louis Gérôme, the artist sought instruction in animal anatomy from the sculptor Emmanuel Frémiet. From 1878, he exhibited at the Royal Academy, became an associate in 1894, and a full academician in 1905, and is known for depictions of lions, tigers, jaguars or polar bears that contemporaries praised for their naturalism.
