介绍（英）	Solomon was eighteen when he made this drawing and soon to debut at the Royal Academy with a painting titled Abraham Sacrificing Isaac, the first of many works that celebrated his Jewish identity. This drawing encapsulates a parallel strain of interest concerned with medieval poetic and Catholic imagery. The mysterious image shows a young musician leaning against a bedpost to contemplate a sleeping girl. A mirror that hangs from the bed’s curtain rail reflects a large moon shining through Gothic tracery and a robed figure carrying a lamp. Moonlight spills across the musician, a panel of embroidery draped over a wooden rack, and casts shadowy figures onto the back wall. Solomon may have conceived this drawing as part of a series devoted to the Passions, and his approach to his subject reveals admiration for the Pre-Raphaelites, particularly Dante Gabriel Rossetti.
