介绍（中）	根据《圣经》，卡斯帕是三位外国三博士（或三位智者）之一，他们前往伯利恒崇拜新生的耶稣并献上礼物。持有黄金的卡斯帕是三人中年龄最大的。传统上，黄金礼物象征着基督的王权这幅版画是从Bellange的一幅代表不同国王Balthasar的版画中复制而来的。然而，由于贝兰奇没有通过铭文来识别他的人物，因此存在一些不确定性，尤其是因为梅里安的复制品，如这幅版画，都刻有与通常的肖像画相矛盾的标识。
介绍（英）	Caspar was one of the three foreign Magi (or Three Wise Men) who, according to the Bible, traveled to Bethlehem to adore the newborn Jesus and to offer gifts. Caspar, the bearer of gold, was the oldest of the three. Traditionally the gift of gold signifies Christ’s kingship. This print is copied in reverse from an etching by Bellange that represented Balthasar, a different king. However, as Bellange did not identify his figures by inscription, there is some uncertainty, not least because the copies by Merian, such as this print, are inscribed with identifications that contradict the usual iconography.
