介绍（中）	惠斯勒描绘了爱尔兰著名美女乔安娜·希弗南（Joanna Hiffernan）——他的模特兼情妇——坐在扶手椅上，被长裙和蓬松的头发吞没，嘴唇张开，好像在说话。细腻的纸张捕捉到柔软的干点线条，传达出感性的情绪。一个女孩头部的素描（在纸的左下角）表明，惠斯勒第一次从相反的方向在盘子上工作时考虑到了另一个主题。干点线被直接刮到铜上，产生了这幅著名的图像。
介绍（英）	Whistler depicts the celebrated Irish beauty Joanna Hiffernan—his model and mistress—sunk in an armchair, engulfed by a long skirt and loose hair, her lips parted as if to speak. The delicate paper captures the soft, drypoint lines and conveys a sensual mood. The light sketch of a girl’s head (in the lower left of the sheet) suggests that Whistler first worked on the plate from the opposite direction with another subject in mind. Drypoint lines were scratched directly into the copper to produce this famous image.
