介绍（英）	This image offers an example of Charles-Honoré Lannuier's incorporation of contemporary French design in his production of furniture for elite New Yorkers. Although the Albany Institute of History and Art's Van Rensselaer bedstead (1951.61) is not an exact copy of the image seen here, American patrons would have accepted it as an authentic version of the French taste. The book's authors, Percier and Fontaine, served as the official designers for Napoleon and heavily influenced the appearance of Empire-style wares produced in both Europe and America through the publication of the serial Recueil de décorations intérieures, which premiered in 1801 and was issued as a complete volume in 1812.
