介绍（中）	哈里森借鉴了他作为剧作家、诗人和演员的背景，与他的雇主马丁·劳伦斯和他的儿子合影。这群人急切地聚集在一起，聆听加利福尼亚淘金热的最新消息，整个19世纪40年代和19世纪50年代，纽约都非常兴奋。哈里森创作这一类型场景的灵感来自美国艺术家威廉·西德尼·芒特（1807-1868）的同名画作。
介绍（英）	Harrison drew on his background as a playwright, poet, and actor for his role in this daguerreotype, posing with his employer, Martin Lawrence, and his son. The group gathers eagerly to listen to the latest news of the California gold rush, which was followed with great excitement in New York throughout the 1840s and 1850s. Harrison took his inspiration for this genre scene from a painting of the same title by the American artist William Sidney Mount (1807–1868).
