介绍（中）	就像他在摄影协会认识的罗杰·芬顿一样，怀特以非凡的技巧练习摄影。怀特和芬顿一样，都是一名职业律师，他在1855年巴黎世界摄影展和次年布鲁塞尔世界摄影展上获得了金牌。他拥有一种技术能力，使他能够将场景的彩色挂毯感知并呈现为最细微区别的单色变化。很少有现存的版画能像这幅那样展示怀特的才华，这一才华在他那个时代受到了应有的赞扬。
介绍（英）	Like Roger Fenton, whom he knew through the Photographic Society, for which he was treasurer, White practiced photography with uncommon skill. A lawyer by trade, as was Fenton, White won the gold medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1855 in Paris and at the Universal Exhibition of Photography in Brussels the following year. He possessed a technical ability that enabled him to perceive and render the coloristic tapestry of a scene as monochromatic shifts of the subtlest distinction. Few extant prints illustrate White's talent as well as this one, a talent for which he was justly celebrated during his day.
