介绍（中）	虽然在19世纪下半叶，普通的黑色或白色缎面拖鞋被青睐于晚装，但日装鞋，尤其是家居拖鞋，可能会更加丰富多彩和华丽。这双虎斑拖鞋上迷人的刺绣改变了原本平凡的物体，反映了对新古典主义设计挥之不去的品味。奇怪的是，厚重的鞋底和小楔形鞋跟表明，它们是为公众穿着的，而不是家庭禁闭，然而，人们普遍认为这种鞋子过于不得体，不适合在这个时候散步和参观。
介绍（英）	While plain black or white satin slippers were favored for eveningwear in the second quarter of the 19th century, daywear shoes, particularly house slippers, could be more colorful and ornate. The appealing embroidery on this pair of tabbed slippers transforms an otherwise mundane object and reflects the lingering taste for neoclassical designs. Curiously, the heavy sole and small wedge heel suggest that they were intended for public wear, as opposed to domestic confinement, however shoes where generally considered excessively immodest and inappropriate for walking and visiting at this time.
