介绍（英）	This important altarpiece was painted by Giotto's pupil Taddeo Gaddi. Originally, the figures were shown on individually framed, arched panels, as was traditional with Gothic altarpieces. It would have had pinnacles and a base (predella). A century and a half later the Gothic frame, which by then would have been considered old-fashioned, was removed and the present rectangular one in Renaissance style was added. The spandrels between the panels were painted in an updated style by Davide Ghirlandaio (1452–1525).
